Dr. Alexander Matz - the founder of our centre - is a general surgeon specializing in minimally invasive procedures. As a General Surgeon, Dr. Matz successfully treats different varieties of varicose and "spider" veins by a combination of non-invasive techniques such as Endovenous Laser Therapy and Sclerotherapy, with minimally invasive surgical procedures such as Mini-Phlebectomy. Dr. Matz has been certified by the Royal College of the Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He holds a Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and The American College of Surgeons. Dr. Matz is also a member of the American College of Phlebology, the International Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and the Canadian Association of General Surgeons. Dr. Matz has been practicing in Nova Scotia since 2001 and has recently relocated his surgical practice to Lindsay, Ontario. He has extensive experience in minimally invasive surgery and phlebology. In addition to overseeing a busy vein practice, Dr. Matz holds privileges as general and advanced laparoscopic surgeon at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario. Published work has been presented at various Provincial, National and International Surgical meetings, including the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons in New York in 2004 and The XXXV Congress of The International College of Surgeons in Pattaya, Thailand in 2006.
